I Was Doing What Most Freelance Editors Do

I’ve been editing for around 20 years, but when I first started taking on freelance editing clients, the business side was pretty scattered.I was looking for anyone who needed an editor, quoting projects one at a time, adjusting what I offered for each client, and hoping the next project would come along when the current one ended.I could edit. The harder part was turning that skill into something consistent. And I think that’s where a lot of capable editors get stuck. You keep improving your editing, building your portfolio, learning new software, and taking whatever work you can find. But there’s still no clear system connecting your skills to consistent client work.

What Changed for Me

The biggest change came when I started creating a repeatable system around the service itself.I got clearer about the type of work I wanted to do, what I would actually provide, how I would price it, what was included, how the client relationship would work, and how I could deliver that service consistently month after month. That made the service easier for clients to understand and easier for me to run.Today, I have multiple YouTube clients who pay me every month for ongoing editing work.

Below are a couple examples of real recurring client payments from my editing business.

I’m not showing you this as an income promise. Your results will depend on your skills, market, offer, and execution. I’m showing it because the framework I’m teaching comes from a business model I actually use.

This Is the System We’ll Build Together

The goal of this cohort is to help you take the editing skills you already have and put a clearer business system around them.Over six weeks, we’ll work through:✅ Who you want to serve and the problem your editing solves
✅ A clear editing offer with defined pricing, scope, deliverables, and boundaries
✅ How to identify and contact potential clients who actually fit that offer
✅ A simple process for sales conversations, proposals, and follow-up
✅ A repeatable onboarding and delivery process for recurring client work
You won’t leave with another pile of freelance tips. You’ll leave with a business framework you can actually start using.

You Should Join If...

You already know how to edit and you’re ready to get more intentional about building the business around that skill. You may be looking for your first real client, trying to turn occasional projects into something more consistent, or already working with clients but lacking a clear system for growing. You need to be willing to make decisions, complete the weekly work, contact potential clients, and receive feedback. If you’re primarily looking to learn editing software or improve your technical editing skills, this cohort probably isn’t the right next step.

How the Cohort Works

✅ Six weekly trainings and implementation assignments inside Skool
✅ One 90-minute group coaching call every Wednesday
✅ Direct feedback on your offer, pricing, outreach, sales process, and client situations
✅ Community access for questions and support between calls
✅ Access to the trainings, discussions, and call replays through November 6
The founding cohort is intentionally small so I can work closely with the group while you actually build and begin using the system.
